Although it's small, it has plenty of room for all of your essentials including your phone and keys.  It slips over a shoulder or across your body to keep your hands free.

One of the best things about the Ella is it won't hurt your pocketbook, you can pick it up for about $64.  I love my big name designer bags but I think I love money too and I love getting to keep it.
]]><![CDATA[Finding the Right Designer Shoulder Bag]]>Sun, 13 Nov 2011 21:37:16 -0800http://www.designer-shoulder-bags.com/1/post/2011/11/finding-the-right-designer-shoulder-bag.htmlit's hard to believe that something as basic as a simple shoulder bag could cost anywhere from $50.00 to over $3,000.00.  Designer labels can take that basic bag and explode the price through the roof, not really because the bag is made that much better than less expensive alternatives, nope, it's the label and only the label that you end up paying for.  That's what makes the current thriving market in knock offs  such a compelling one.  These bags don't have the quality of the real deal but when an impostor is hanging on your shoulder, who is going to know any different?  If labels are important and the look of the bag fits your liking, nobody but your banker is going to know if what you are carrying is a knock off or not.

Clearly counterfeiting is against the law and it is stealing.  Though you may be tempted by one of these knockoffs, steer clear of them.  Its theft of the designers hard won reputation and their intelectual investment in their unique designs.  If you can't afford to buy a real Prada bag, then don't buy one, buy something you can afford that has the look you like but again, don't lower yourself to buying a counterfeit bag.

Beautiful, stylish and practical bags can be had with much of the quality of a designer shoulder bag but without the big name Italian label prices.  We'll be looking at some of those designers in the weeks ahead.

The new Country Club Plaza location opened this week at 321 Nichols Road, set up like an upscale closet.  The Plaza is the premier shopping and dining location located in Kansas City drawing visitors from miles and miles away.  The plaza is one of the first, if not the first, modern shopping center.  It's not an enclosed mall but an open space filled with upscale shopping and great places to grabe a bit or a cocktail.

The entryway of the new Plaza store, with its multicolored striped floor and wall, features accessories like handbags and jewelry, along with sweaters with the words “spike the punch” or “cha cha cha.” Large green doors open into the next area where customers will find more handbags, clothing, ski hats, mittens, tights, knee highs, cosmetic cases and shoes.

Kate Spade New York has been featuring different colors each month. For November it will be jewel colors like emerald, cobalt blue and purple, and in December you'll find plenty of navy. For now, black, red and snapdragon (a hot pink) dominate the space.

]]><![CDATA[Affordable Style]]>Fri, 11 Nov 2011 11:35:08 -0800http://www.designer-shoulder-bags.com/1/post/2011/11/first-post.htmlYou can own an authentic designer handbag for less than you may believe.  No, it won't be a "Prada" but so what?  Let the people with more money than they know what to do with spend thousands on a handbag.  Those people don't live in the real world and to be honest, though they are free to do with their money what they want to do with it, I find it distasteful to even consider spanding $3,000.00 for a purse.  Even if I was Bill Gates rich, spending that kind of money on a bag would be out of the question.  I'd rather spend a few hundred on a very nice bag and take the rest of the money and use it to feed or clothe somebody in dire need.

So what we'll do in this blog is take a look as some really nice bags by some very talented designers that won't cost more than at most a couple of hundred dollars and many will be less than $100. ]]>
